EKAM is a landscape design and construction firm headquartered in Yakushima, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Guided by the philosophy of "dedicating to all life," we create regenerative landscapes that harmonize with the natural environment. Initial Inquiry
Contact us through our inquiry form. If you have reference images, sketches, or preliminary plans, please attach them to help us understand your vision.

Consultation & Site Survey
We begin with a detailed consultation to understand your requirements and site conditions. Using architectural drawings, we assess the characteristics of the property and take precise measurements of the garden space as needed. During the site visit, we also evaluate the surrounding environment and daily conditions such as sun exposure and drainage.

Concept & Design Proposal
For projects starting from the conceptual stage, we develop a planting concept tailored to the site. We present our vision through written narratives, schematic drawings, and reference imagery. For projects at the design stage, we prepare detailed planting plans — including execution drawings and material schedules — informed by our site survey, client interviews, and plan review. We explain the overall design concept and the rationale behind each species selection in a clear, accessible manner.

Preparation of Additional Documentation
Upon request, we will display materials such as tree photos, tree characteristic charts, image sketches, and photo montages. Please use it for internal meetings, presentations to customers, etc.

Development of Construction Documents
If you wish to proceed from the schematic design to detailed planning and construction, we ask you to sign a preliminary agreement. At this stage, a deposit of 10% of the preliminary estimate is required.

Contract Execution
Upon final agreement, we execute a formal construction contract based on the approved construction documents and detailed cost estimate. Any deposit paid under the preliminary agreement will be credited toward the final contract amount.

Construction
With careful attention to site safety and the surrounding environment, we execute all work in strict accordance with the contract specifications and construction schedule.

Maintenance consultation
Once we finalize the species selection, we prepare supplementary materials including a planting schedule (species name, size, quantity), a reference image portfolio for each selected species, and a maintenance manual covering care procedures for the first year and beyond.
